Quote:Joshua McLean, 30, of Nashville, and his brother met the two men at a Nashville shopping center Saturday night, according to a WTVF-TV report.

Joshua McLean's brother told police he heard two gunshots when Joshua got out of his car in the parking lot. Then he found his brother lying between two cars, bleeding. Officials believe Joshua was shot twice in the chest.

So he brought his brother, but didn't bother to instruct him to watch his back, or to be armed.

Hmmm.

I've brought my brother with me when I've gone to buy/sell guns and never considered arming or instructing him to serve as my bodyguard. I didn't know that's what bringing brothers places with you required.

I would have thought pretty much any Craigslist purchase should come with standard increased SA and back-up whenever possible. But maybe that's just me.

I've only used craigslist a few times and didn't think much about safety. I talked to the other parties on the phone first each time and had a good feeling about the deals. I think I'm a pretty good judge of character, maybe I'm just lucky.

Well you know now, and it didn't cost you your life. Learn from this poor fellow's mistakes.

I can't say I've ever bought a gun from someone on Craigslist. Neither would I.

I thought Craigslist didn't allow sales of firearms...

I suspect we'll hear more of this story. Like the brother was banging his wife or something. I'm waiting until more info comes..

I would never buy or sell firearms through Craigslist, but I sure as hell was always armed. You never know who will show up. This same rule applies when I meet girls online. As great as technology is, you cannot fully trust someone through a computer or telephone.
