'Terrorist Groups' Seize Uranium Compounds, Iraq Tells U.N.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Insurgents have seized nuclear materials used for scientific research at a university, Iraq told the United Nations in a letter appealing for help to "stave off the threat of their use by terrorists." Nearly 88 pounds of uranium compounds were kept at Mosul University, Iraq's U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim told U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the July 8 letter obtained by Reuters on Wednesday. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/iraq-tu...-n-n152441

If we're lucky they'll kill themselves trying to make a weapon out of it.

Considering the insane amount of money it takes to refine out all the shit in low-grade uranium compounds to get most of it into uranium, then spinning the shit out of it in gas centrifuges to get the fissile isotope...

They're more likely to give themselves cancer.

If they get sick enough to bleed out that will be fine with me, but it looks like the stuff they have isn't that powerful.

Go out in your yard, get a shovel full of dirt. Congratulations, you have a uranium containing compound.

If anyone is worried that this could be a nuclear bomb threat, it isn't. It could be a dirty bomb threat, but they don't have much of anything.

I do. It's why I have a radon mitigation system in place. However, if I dig deep enough, I might find a chinaman. But don't tell HuffPo.

Yeah, we should probably be more worried about them sprinkling polonium in our salad bars. Watch out for the bacon bits. Angel
