The Gun Ban list is out

Came across this. Apparently it's recycled from 2009 or somewhere in there.

Obama has literally zero ability to pass any anti gun legislation through congress without a very significant degree of Republican support.

He'll no doubt do whatever damage he can through executive order though.

Wake me up when you stop yelling the sky is falling when it isn't and you start really meaning it. I hate false alarms they don't help.

That is my greatest fear too. Not so much what Congress might try to pull, but what type of executive order he might try to implement.

When this executive order is given please wake me up then. The whole border state thing was pretty much ignored and we did nothing about that either, maybe this time people will care enough to vote for people that support eliminating executive orders and people that want to reverse the machine gun ban instead of some Douche that passed an assault weapons ban

I don't own a M1A yet, I'm going to be real pissed if I can't get one some day. It's been one of the ones I've always wanted to own. Who knows anything Obama passes will probably be retroactive so nobody is grandfathered.

This was discussed a bit in this thread;

But here's my response from there;

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember, it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK, in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons, but will know that you did.

Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to disarm the citizens.

The same chain mail that was posted three years ago.

In fact, they do not have the votes to pass ANYTHING without extensive R cooperation.

It says that because this chain mail was generated when the democrats had both the house and Senate. No ban list was put into law.

My worry is that republicans will concede on this as 'compromise' to extend the bush tax cuts.

I think this is the most realistic scenario.
Unbanned since September 2012.

It's not going to happen. No one is going to send the jackboots to your door for your guns. What will happen is a massive tax increase on guns, ammo, and accessories. Somewhere in the 300%-500% increase. Why? Because you can't have what you can't afford. Instead of a ban, its more likely that the gov't would just classify our EBR's as Class III, reducing the likelihood of widespread ownership. Either way, its a gloomy outlook.
