When someone mentions tactical precision sniper rifles, most folks immediately think of rifles based on the Remington 700 platform. But many long-range shooters know that it’s the FN SPR line that really steals the show with out-of-the-box guaranteed accuracy.

Thats a near $3,000 bolt gun. You could build a rem700 with an accuracy international folding stock, suppressor, scope, and nice bipod for that price. If you have the dough, its the way to go. FN also offers a version with an adjustable cheek weld, fluted heavy barrel thats pre threaded for a can. But yeah, $3K.

I would say I'm becoming a big fan of non mil-spec guns... the reason being? Most people arent #1 putting anywhere near the number of rounds through their gun that the mil/leo will, and #2 almost no civilian is exposing their weapon to the elements that mil spec will be exposed to.
tolerance for failure meter... LOW

I agree it is a very expensive rifle and probably more than a regular guy would need. It is very nice though.Wink

My brother in law has one in 300 wsm. It is a very nice shooter indeed. I was going to scoff at the price but I started adding up what I have into my 308 and it is pretty close to the retail on the FN.

I just ordered a Manners T4A for my 700 5R which coupled with the Timney Calvin trigger brings it to about $2500 without glass.
