The Top 10 Best Gun Quotes to Fire at Liberals

ben franklinEven in light of the facts that prove gun ownership reduces crime, not everybody supports the right to bear arms. So when facts don’t work to persuade somebody of the value of guns, you might try a little social proof by sharing some of the quotes below.

With that in mind, here are the top 10 best gun quotes around that you can fire off at liberals… http://therighttobear.com/the-top-10-bes...-liberals/

Admit nothing.  Deny everything. Demand proof.
If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.

Truth.

I went round and round with a coworker years ago and the conversation abruptly ended when he said "I don't understand why they don't just make bullets that only WOUND people!"

I replied that he lives in a fantasy world and that there was no point discussing it further.

Years ago I got into a discussion with a guy who told me that by me shooting an intruder or someone trying to steal my truck I was violating that guy's right to life. He ranted about how my private property or personal belongings were not worth near what this perpetrator's life would be. What really broke the conversation into a frenzy was when he explained to me that no one has the right to take someone's life even in defense of their own. He told me how life is sacred and that even the life of a criminal who means you harm should be spared. Of course my next question was "so I'm supposed to die so someone who wants to kill me can live?"... to which he replied: "sometimes you gotta be the bigger man, and carrying a gun doesn't make you a man".

Funny enough, the next day, the same guy was trying to explain his views on abortion to another co-worker. The guy who is against shooting a would-be murderer was explaining why abortion is totally okay because the human being with the beating heart hasn't been exposed to air yet so they're not technically human.

I was happy when I left that job and no longer had to listen to that type of shit on my lunch break.

Wrong. I am living proof the dialogue is worth it.

I thought gun control was a positive thing as a teen and as an outside observer of the debate before I knew anything at all about guns. Then I decided to immerse myself in the rhetoric of both sides and check into the sources. The pro-gun rhetoric is simply more compelling and less disingenuous than the rhetoric the antis have to offer. Anti-gun people are not impossible to reach! While I won't say that I was ever fully "anti-gun" at any point, I certainly did not see myself ever feeling compelled to own an "assault rifle" or "hi-cap mags" as a teenager, but now I see the value in both. While you may not ever convert the fanatical anti who refuses to listen to reason, the people on the periphery of the debate who are watching the dialogue and maybe not as committed to it as a political cause like me can certainly be swayed as well. Those are the people the gun community needs to go after specifically. The anti's know this and through their culture try to get us to self censor and keep our views to ourselves while they proselytize at every venue they can get their hands on. They are killing the gun community by causing it to insulate our message from the people who are not "gun people" because it's not worth the trouble, when in reality it really is.

Either way though I think it's best to let the gun do the talking whenever possible. Even the most fanatical anti pretty much always has to reexamine their world view after sending some rounds downrange for the first time from a scary looking gun if you can manage to convince them to do it to learn more about their enemy if nothing else.

I've had similar discussions before. In my experience, people like this tend to be pacifists and think that they are a morally superior person. I personally think that they are extremely immoral. That a person can stand by and not stand up to people harming others and be okay with them doing evil deeds is one of the most immoral things you can do imo. When you have people like him, you have people that allow things like genocide (any of the 100 or so that have occurred over the last 100 years around the world) to occur. You have people who are okay with evil dominating the world.

Years ago I belonged to a forum (no longer around) where I pointed out that some of quotes that people normally attribute to the founding fathers have no basis in reality, (can not be found in any documents anywhere) and are probably made up. A couple (or variations) are on the list.

I can't access that post or the research I did, but here is a 2nd Amendment blog that makes the same assertion that I do.

The reason I'm pointing this out is that we have plenty of reasons and justification to carry without making up more reasons. When people start quoting founding fathers and attributing words to them that they never said to make the pro 2nd argument seem stronger, they weaken it in my opinion. Nothing like saying "Washington said" and an anti saying they never said that and them being right.

#5 on that list is straight out of the PA constitution. (Article 1, Section 21) James Madison was a Virginian so its a safe bet he didn't write that one.
