This State Banned Sharia Law – Now Muslims and Liberals Are Outraged
Sharia-law-Billboard

Last week’s midterm elections included a proposed amendment to the Alabama State Constitution, preemptively banning Sharia Law. When voters went to the polls, they passed the law, known as Alabama Statewide Amendment 1, by a wide margin. The amendment specifically bans the consideration of foreign codes of law, particularly Islamic Sharia Law. The provision on the ballot read: http://liberty247.net/state-banned-shari...-outraged/

I hope the jihadists and honor killers remember that they're breaking the law when they break the law.

You can't get rid of religious influence from the law. Judeo-Christian influence is the law. Even our Founding Fathers pointed out that without Christianity our form of government cannot survive, for the ideals, hence written documents to support it, are based in Christianity. Countries without Christianity are either savage or dictatorships. The microcosm being a city gang. When God is not in control, it's survival of the fittest, mob rule, and the strongest govern.

Please cite the quotes you are referring to, most of our founding fathers were deists, agnostics and freemasons.

Although, to be fair, j/c religious influenced laws are generally far more tolerable than shartia. Not being able to buy booze on Sunday vs being beaten or killed for having booze, for example.

besides, Islam is not a religion. And this ruling would only make enforcemnet of shartia illegal. You could still choose to follow it, just like any other dogmatic garbage like not working on this or that day, not eating this or that thing, hooping on one foot while chanting, or wearing a metal colander on your head to commune with the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The ten commandments is the basis for some law...such as "thou shalt not murder", and "thou shalt not steal".

If there was NO such thing as ANY religion, and since of course we came from monkeys, right..... then there can be no law without a religion to back it up...because law comes from religion. If there is no higher authority or no greater good, then there is no need for law other than the whim of whatever leader a country has and decides on.

As you can see, America being founded on religious principles vs. Muslim nations being run on Muslim principles are two very, very different places. That's because law stems from the general religious principles of the country....unless it's a dictatorship, then law stems from the whims of the leader.

If you remove ALL "religion" from law, then you really don't have law....you have have theory and you have rules that can be easily changed by the next generation.

You guys should like Bible principle actually....it supports liberty. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

But in America, just laws are passed by representatives who only derive their governing powers from the consent of the governed.

Of course, it USED to be that way in America.
