Toomey: Background Checks Died Because GOP Didn't Want To Help Obama
#1
Quote:Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) revealed that some members of his party opposed expanding background checks for gun sales recently because they didn't want to "be seen helping the president."

Two weeks ago, only three Republican senators voted for the bipartisan background checks amendment sponsored by Toomey and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), despite overwhelming popular support for such a measure.

"In the end it didn’t pass because we're so politicized. There were some on my side who did not want to be seen helping the president do something he wanted to get done, just because the president wanted to do it,” Toomey admitted on Tuesday in an interview with Digital First Media editors in the offices of the Times Herald newspaper in Norristown, Pa.

This sack of shit just doesn't learn does he?

I'll take a democrat in his position. At least you know they are going to fuck you. This guy just ran up behind us with lube and a smile.

I will do everything I can to send that turd packing.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

Um, guys, it's the Huffington Post. Taking anything there seriously is like taking MSLSD seriously. They go out of their way to take statements out of context, especially if it is someone with an R next to their name. Sometimes it astounds me that Ariana, that piece of refuse, was once married to the most conservative member of the California representatives in congress.

As much as progressives are desperate to deny it, there is little popular support for this legislation. Those lawmakers actually did their jobs and represented their constituents on this matter.

That's another Inconvenient Truth the left can't handle.

He's probably correct.
It's never about protecting our rights.
