Quote:The federal government is spending nearly $1 million to create an online database that will track “misinformation” and hate speech on Twitter.

The National Science Foundation is financing the creation of a web service that will monitor “suspicious memes” and what it considers “false and misleading ideas,” with a major focus on political activity online.

The “Truthy” database, created by researchers at Indiana University, is designed to “detect political smears, astroturfing, misinformation, and other social pollution.”

The university has received $919,917 so far for the project.

“The project stands to benefit both the research community and the public significantly,” the grant states. “Our data will be made available via [application programming interfaces] APIs and include information on meme propagation networks, statistical data, and relevant user and content features.”

I know, right? Just because I disagree doesn't mean I hate.....

People of any political leaning should be concerned about this.

So now the government is creating a database to track so-called "hate speech", "subversive propaganda" and "social pollution" on twitter in the name of "the preservation of open debate", that really is no joke Huh. Your really can't even make this shit up anymore. This is so 1984 with newspeak and all it's not even funny. The goal is to quash any and all anti-regime dissent as well as make any kind of non-politically correct speech illegal like it is in the UK and Australia. Angry Want to take bets on when the first legislation will hit that will make anything the regime considers "bigoted" illegal speech? My guess is <5 years.

I'm interested to see how Dave will try to spin this to make it seem like a good thing...
