Troy PAR - Pump Action "AR15"
#1
Flame suit on, but I just might be in love. I've been tossing around the idea of a Remington 7600 for a while now to hunt with but I think that's all thrown out the window at this point. The 7600s come in at around $600-$700ish (which I think is WAY overpriced) but for a few hundred more I could get a WHOLE lot more functionality. Until we can get everyone to put their big boy panties on and pass semi-autos for hunting this is about the best option.

I freaking want one!!!

(I know, I know, it's nutsarefancy I get it. He does a pretty good review though and there isn't much else out there. Take it FWIW)

What do yall think? Where can I find one?!

I'll take a Remington 7615 or Mossberg MVP if I just have to have a .223 that uses AR mags over that abomination any day.
Some people need to read this book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1936976021/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_bs5jwbZH1GAZF

It sure would make for a nice alternative to a lever gun if the antis ever have their wish to ban semis granted.

Hmmmm... AR15 lever action?
Gonna have to get that mag well on the side, son.

Yea, I kinda wish this concept continues and we get to see something in a 30 caliber.

What I do like about the PAR.
-extremely lightweight and small
-takes AR trigger groups (Geisellie anyone???)
-mounting options that could make this a damn fine nighttime coyote rig
-takes standard AR mags
-no buffer tube, folding stock(which looks to be a quality piece of kit too)

What I don't like.
-pinned and welded muzzle brake (may have something to do with the OAL when folded though?)
-can't swap out uppers or lowers
-nothing as far as other caliber options that I can tell

I think DPMS made a pump AR too, but it appears to have been a flop judging by the lack of hits I'm turning up on Google.

Someone on pafoa has the AK pump. He had it at a group shoot this summer, but I forgot to ask to try it out.

I know this "abomination" is something people like us supposed to hate. It's almost like the poster child for what stupid gun laws have created but aside from that I still think it's cool and would have a few purposes. Maybe not so much $900-$1000 cool but maybe more like $600 cool max.

I think its a wicked cool novelty.

But if it allows someone in a nazi state to have an AR platform rifle, so be it.

That would make a pretty sweet 300 blackout host. No action noise.
