Police must detain 'accessories' to 'treason' or truckers will, organizer says

October 7, 2013

Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally.

Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders.

Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution.

The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit.

How about protest on your own time with your own equipment. I'm sure all of the commuters will appreciate their attempt at a stupid protest, especially since their commute is usually so relaxing anyway.

They should do the same thing in all the major cities.

Good luck maintaining 55mph, though.

Having been a Beltway Commando for several years, I can tell you that simply going 55 mph without an agenda is enough to cause mass riots. Imagine 12 lanes of traffic across, and 10 of them slowed to the sub-standard 55 from the normal bumper-to-bumper 70-ish... and the only "open" lane is HOV/Emergency. Peeps will literally lose their shit.

Oh, for some time off and a video camera.
tolerance for failure meter... LOW

I support what these truckers are doing so long as it is non-violent. More things like this NEED to happen. People's everyday lives need to be disrupted in a way that nobody gets hurt in order for them to wake up the the rampant criminality and corruption in our government. If we had more events like this we'd have enough support to be a lot closer to fixing the problems that our politicians have no interest in correcting if the zombies whose minds have been held captive by the state run media could actually become aware of what is going on.

Exactly what basis is there in criminal law for arresting congressmen for "for allegedly disregarding the Constitution"? We have a constitutional process for dealing with problematic elected officials. This ain't it. These guys are the ones disregarding the Constitution.

And exactly who do these guys think they are that they have the right to interfere with the freedom to travel of their fellow citizens who may or may not agree with them?

There's nothing to admire about this.

I don't know about you, but I sure don't see any process being followed to deal with corrupt politicians. I see them laughing in our faces as they continue to rule with an iron fist. They shouldn't worry about whether people agree with them or not. They are pushing for a cause they believe in, much like many other people did when they believed in a cause.

It's a true grass roots movement of the people. There is everything to admire about what these people are doing. And the roadblocks they've had to overcome that had been thrown their way by the progressives and still manage to organize is in itself admirable.

I fully support what these guys are doing, more of it needs to be done. Exercise that First Amendment right. The message HAS to get out what the progressives are doing to this country. God knows the MSM has been doing their best to provide smokescreens and cover for this administration. I hope this puts the Establishment on notice. The sleeping giant is feeling pretty restless, keep poking it....

Would you feel the same way if a bunch of anti-2A or Obamacare supporters formed a road block on I95, the turnpike, or Blue route? What if they were a grass roots organization practicing their rights and getting their ideas out that guns kill people or every citizen deserves the right to get medical help?

I don't care if people practice their 1A rights, no matter what the message is whether I agree with it or not. I just don't like it when they force their opinions down people's throats by seriously interrupting other people's lives.
