U.S. Marines surrender weapons!

I'm "too close to the Marine issue?"

That's like telling Gordon Ramsay he's too close to the kitchen issue. Pardon me, Chef... but you should've served that chicken raw because I read it in the internet."

Yep, CENTCOM obviously feels someone screwed the proverbial pooch, there Commandant.

Not to mention, you're missing the bigger picture. My comments aren't about anyone's beloved Corps, but the matter in which the whole thing is being handled. We have a Commander In Chief, touting publicly his foreign policy accomplishments all the same time he is giving away American consulates across the Middle East. Drop the Marine issue, and address the Obama foreign policy matter.

Again, the mission is to protect the Ambassador, and the mission was completed. But... no, better to be slaughtered to a man defending an empty building. Custer and Pickett would applaud.

Being pulled from the site was the correct decision, and I am personally amazed Obama actually made it. But lets get involved in another war in the Shit-east.

Have you seen "300"? Great movie. This would have been like... "50-ish". Your perception of "retreat/surrender" is completely unrealistic. Yes, Yemen has fallen, and yes, this due in large part to the ineffectual lead-from-behindership of the current administration (but mostly due to the bat shit crazy islamists that infest the planet)... but thats geopolitical douchebaggery for you.

I'm going with 10K here. Semper Fi brother. Being in the Marines provides you with real workable knowledge of how things actually work. I may not be in the Corp anymore, but I'm still affiliated with the Dept of The Navy, via my wife. It's amazing the things people don't know they don't know.

The embassy doesn't have any thermite grenades in the armory somewhere? I'd think they'd at least have some to destroy listening post equipment as they pulled out. Seems like you could take any sensitive equipment toss it in a heavy steel dumpster toss a thermite grenade on top and render the vast majority of the weapons inoperable or severely damaged at the very least.

Again, Marine, quit getting wrapped around the axle. Let's say the Girl Scouts were there and had to "evacuate", under a pre-planned arrangement the world knew about previously....

It's the third U.S. Embassy, in what, like 4 years that has fallen? Why was anyone even still there? The Obama Administration keeps clinging to the pre-planned arrangement B.S., but someone's pre-plan went to crap when they had to abandon vehicles and weapons. In essence, this little suare' was a half step away from Marines having to fight for each other in that empty building.

Of course, another Marine.

All "pre plans" go to shit. Its a matter of daily life in the military. I dont know why youre so hostile about this... Im trying to give you the insider's view. I have family and friends in State Dept, as well.

Lets just say Im completely right, youre completely wrong, and leave it at that.

As a marine, which embassy is the best to be assigned to?
