I may not be in the Corp anymore, but I'm still affiliated with the Dept of The Navy, via my wife. It's amazing the things people don't know they don't know.

Of course, another Marine.

Yep. It goes along the same lines of, if you want to know how a cake is made, talk to somebody who works at a bakery. Want to know how a car works? Talk to a mechanic. Want to know why Marines did something? Ask a Marine.

Lets just say Im completely right, youre completely wrong, and leave it at that.

As a marine, which embassy is the best to be assigned to?

Iceland.

Interesting, but understandable. I was expecting England or Germany or somewhere in between.

Funny YOU say that, but by the accounts I'm seeing others don't see it that way. Once again, you are trying to put the rosy cheek on this, to downplay the actions, to make it look like the beloved Corps acted honorably. Once again, I'm claiming the Obama Administration screwed the foreign policy pooch.

Let me try another approach. Are you saying that you see nothing wrong with the Obama Administration giving up what, 3-4 Embassy's, in as many years, to a group they claim is JV, that they further claim they are defeating, whose name they won't mention, who is now asking Congress if they can go to war with?

Let's just say I'm right and leave it at that.

Using that analogy, when at the scene of a crime I guess to determine one's innocence I should ask one's accomplice?

Please highlight at what point I hurled an insult your way? I don't know anybody on this forum beyond the computer screen. So don't assume that I'm speaking for him. I just happen to agree with him on this issue based on my actual real world experiences. Therefore, I must use your words against you:

I do, however, fail to understand at what point you're using logic.

My comment was geared toward parroting your Marine friend, therefore, the comment was meant to intercept what one might logically assume was inevitable. Had I not made my comment, who knows?

Again, this entire post was geared toward the failure of the U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. The fact that the U.S. Marines had to leave under ANY circumstances is a slap in our country's face. It was not, therefore, about Marines, evacuation planning, how many friends and family work at the State Department, or the fact anyone is/was, or wants to be a Marine.

Logic, therefore, dictates that this issue is one one of many incidences recently where the Commander in Chief has screwed the proverbial pooch and is now is trying to backpedal from it. To assume anything to the contrary, is ludicrous.

The title of your post and the first few lines of the the story you linked to infer the idea that the Marines are at fault, that they simply surrendered the embassy, dropped their weapons and fled. I read the article, which only later mentions the destruction of hardware. Your title is both inflammatory and defamatory towards the Marines, but I defended them by trying to explain with facts and experience. I also agreed that the situation is the result of bad policy and Islamic extremism.

You ignored that, and began to attack the character of myself, others who disagreed with you, and the Marines. You, Deadeye, are a troll... and I'm done with both you and your shit thread.
