An agreement over a sweeping overhaul of immigration law reached by a bipartisan group of leading senators has quickly drawn its critics.

The outline of the plan covers border security, guest workers and employer verification, as well as a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in this country.

The deal, expected to be announced later this afternoon, has a long way to go before the thorny details are worked out. But the development heralds the start of what could be the most significant effort in years toward overhauling the nation's inefficient patchwork of immigration laws.

It is already drawing critics who say it will add an incalculable financial toll on America.

abolishing welfare would certainly remove this notion of 'financial toll on America'.

Admit nothing.  Deny everything. Demand proof.
If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.
Paying for welfare is slavery.

All I see here is a big "fuck you" to all that have taken the difficult, convoluted and expensive process to legally be a citizen or permanent resident of this country.

A family member was arbitrarily denied her green card because it was being processed during 9-11 even though the rest of her immediate family received theirs. Only a letter to Biden (of all people) made her application go through and then she got her card. Renewed it last year, paid the fee ($450 in case anyone's wondering) got fingerprinted and now are still waiting.

Something tells me it's going to be a repeat of last time, what then? Stay in the country illegally? Take time off work (you know, the job I have to pay for the choomgangers) to drive to D.C. and sort it out?

All while these cockfucks want to grant amnesty to the illegal immigrants?

I do not and never will support amnesty for illegal immigrants under any circumstances, children or otherwise.

I suspect some people didn't actually read the proposals.
