US gynecologists advocate tolerance for "mild" forms of FGM...

This is so wrong and such sick logic on so many levels. I don't even know what to say. These people know no bounds with regards to how far they are willing to go in order to virtue signal their regressive leftist brand of "tolerance". What the hell is happening to the world we used to live in? Who are these aliens and monsters who come up with / advocate for this trash?

So? Male circumcision is legal here. What's the difference?

There are proven health benefits to circumcision that multiple cultures practice. Not that I'm saying everyone should have it done to their children, that is call for each parent to make. There is no health benefit for doing what they are talking about to girls or women.

I always wonder why people can't acknowledge one problem before pointing the finger elsewhere. It seems to me cutting a woman's lady parts for basically religious reasons of any kind is something we can agree is universally not desirable for our own culture as Americans.

The difference is huge. The procedures and results are not even close to each other. I don't agree with male circumcision, and something as barbaric and disfiguring as FGM is a whole lot worse.
I won't get into any explicit details here, but a quick internet search or two can show you the difference between trimming and exposing a portion of one organ as opposed to complete removal of another.

When our youngest son was born, the nurses took him away to clean him up, after just a few minutes one of the nurses came back into the delivery room and asked if we wanted to have him circumcised.
I said "That's a bit presumptuous, don't you think?"
She asked me what I meant and I said. "To cut some off of it before you know how big it's going to get? Of course not."
After the nurse left the room, (trying to hide the laughing), my wife reminded me again why she doesn't like to take me out in public.

Don't get me wrong, I oppose circumcision, period. Boys, girls, it's disgusting and barbaric. My point was, we routinely mutilate our sons without batting an eye, and there's even a subtle "shaming" involved if you refuse, like I witnessed when my son was born. So why now the sudden righteous fury over girls being circumcised?

If it's legal to circumcise boys, when there's no real medical necessity except in some rare cases, it should be legal to circumcise girls. Circumcision is a cultural thing, not a medical one. I think the stance against it is rooted in the cultures that practice female circumcision.

That is so wrong on so many different levels. It's incomprehensible to me how anyone could agree to do it as part of their religion/job, and then for the parents to actually consent to it. It's beyond disgusting, it sounds perverted to me.

Was that directed at me? I already said I find the practice barbaric. I don't care if it's your religious culture, it's fucking barbaric. But it's legal, so, whatever.
