This guy is from Warminster. And he's a total douche.

Sounds like he was using his SOT demo letter for non-demo purposes, and personal gain.

I'm confused, how did they do all that without some participation from the sheriff's department?

I'm confused, what does any of that have to do with the FDA? I kept waiting for milk to somehow work it's way into the story....like the gun parts were shipped in raw milk... or profits from the gun part sales went towards running an illegal raw milk operation. Tongue

An SOT can only buy post-sample (read: post 1986 manufacture) machine guns if they have what's known as a demo-letter from a law enforcement agency. This is basically a letter stating that they are interested in buying machine guns from that particular dealer. The SOT can then forward that letter to the ATF, and upon approval, can purchase post-1986 machine guns.

But once they have the letter, they are technically only supposed to buy machine guns for the purpose of demonstrating the guns to law enforcement, or selling them to law enforcement. They are not supposed to just buy all the guns they want for personal use. But there is nothing stopping them from doing just that, except that it might raise flags with the ATF.

The only involvement that the sheriff's department had was that they supplied the letter in the first place. What Vahan did with it afterwards can only be blamed on Vahan.

I don't get that either, it should be the ATF.

Quote: The indictment also alleges a conspiracy among the same individuals to defraud the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concerning the acquisition of approximately 74 restricted laser sights which can only be obtained by law enforcement or the military. Similar misrepresentations concerning the acquisition and use by the Lake County Sheriff’s department are alleged in this count.

Say what??????Shrug

OH NOES! Deadly lasers! You have to be a special person to have a laser above 5mW. One more bit of government foolishness. Nope, no tyranny here in the land of the free, nothing to see, move along. You might put your eye out kid.

Seriously though, lasers regulated by the FDA????? Calculating how a laser equals a food or a drug.....does not compute.
