Wow.....

Quote:VIDEO: Wild shootout caught on video at Northeast Philly motel

Police have released surveillance video of a wild shoot-out caught on camera last month at a Northeast Philadelphia motel.

Luckily, investigators said, no one was injured in the melee.

Officers were called shortly before 12:30 a.m. on March 31 to the Roosevelt Motor Inn, located at 7600 Roosevelt Blvd. in Rhawnhurst.

An employee told police he heard gunshots coming from a hallway. Soon after, the employee said, an unknown gunman ran past the front desk and fled through the parking lot.

Police found ballistic evidence but were unable to make contact with any of the suspects.

As far as handguns go, the injury at the time is not really any different than a hot puncture wound. An object punctures the body and may or may not cause significant internal injuries. The object may or may not exit the body.

The results of gun shot woulds are largely psychological. There are many people that have been shot through the heart, in the head, etc. that lived to fight off the attacker and survived.

There are people that have seemingly survivable gunshot wounds that die from them.

Mental preparedness is the key. The guy that got shot was mentally prepared to get shot and keep on fighting.

Given how he was going what he was going, I get the feeling that this wasn't his first time doing something like this. I wonder if he also might have been shot before and knew it was survivable and not necessarily incapacitating.

I should probably clarify a statement I made. When I said gunshot wounds are mostly psychological, I meant the immediate effects (falling over, not using a limb, etc.) are often more psychological than they are physiological.

Yes, gunshot wounds can suck. Especially from rifles and shotguns. And from handguns, too. Especially the after-care. However, the immediate trauma is effectively treated like a puncture wound. Granted, said puncture wound could have severed an artery, punctured a lung, brought on tension pneumothorax, or any number of other problems. However, there is nothing magical about a gunshot wound.

Completely understood your post. I was being sarcastic in mine more than anything else. It is surreal to watch that video as it is a very casual looking ordeal. Both shooters are smiling, the one guy is carrying the coffee without spilling. Good times.
