Violent road rage murder

Did you guys see this one? This is why we should be allowed self defense across state lines. Because crime crosses state lines.

Quote:The violent driver suspected of running a Maine man off of a Pennsylvania highway, then shooting him dead in his vehicle, could kill again if authorities don't find him and put him behind bars soon, police warned.

Pennsylvania State Police, who are working with the FBI and police in neighboring states, are pleading with the public for help nabbing the pickup truck driver believed to have gunned down Timothy Davison on the I-81 median near the Maryland border in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The vicious road rage attack, which occurred after Davison called 911 in Maryland to report he was being followed, is the work of an extremely dangerous individual, police said.

" ... the potential for additional incidents of similar nature is anticipated due to the violent nature of this incident."
- Pennsylvania State Police statement

"The acts committed against Mr. Davison were random only to the point of his initial encounter with his assailant," the Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement Tuesday. "Beyond that, the acts against him were very deliberate, calculated and violent. With that said, the potential for additional incidents of similar nature is anticipated due to the violent nature of this incident."

Davison, 28, of Poland, Maine, was making the 1,400-mile trip home after spending the holidays with family members in Orlando, Fla., when the other driver began tailgating him, according to police. He lost contact with a Maryland 911 dispatcher as he crossed into Pennsylvania, then called back to say he was being shot at, according to police. He was found dead inside his SUV, which was stuck in a snowbank in the median near Antrim Township in southern Pennsylvania.

The scariest part to me was that the aggressor actually rammed the victims car into the snow bank in order to shoot him. Nothing you can do about that without having a gun of your own.....and even then, it sounds like the aggressor would have been a tough one to hit.

I guess since the FBI is now involved in this, they've pulled all the records of cell phone towers to see which phones were in the vicinity at the time, and those records will be cross referenced to people that drive a vehicle that matches the description of the perp.

Unless the guy didn't have a cell phone.

Question....say the tables were turned and the victim was armed, and was able to shoot the perp after he was rammed.

How does one go about proving their innocence? No witnesses.... Can the tire tracks tell the whole story?

That depends if you have a similar cop that I had when I reported an accident that I witnessed first hand. Car pulled out in front of another car, second car slams on brakes and tries to avoid the first car side swipes him and then stops a few feet past. I told the cop that the skid marks left on the road were definitely from the second car and he could probably use them to determine that the second car was exceeding the speed limit by a good bit. He told me that there was no way to prove those skid marks came from that car, even though I was standing there telling him that I watched the entire thing happen, and that those skid marks weren't there before the accident.

The subrogation lawyer's best friend. It also records where your car is and what direction you're pointing while it's capturing video, plus it detects G-force shock and sharp swerves indicating an incident happened. If you make long car trips it helps to keep a laptop that can read SD cards handy so you can pop the chip into the laptop and replay the video (for a cop) if need-be. I hope the resolution is good enough to capture plates--that's what really counts.

My parents have had to white knuckle it getting through MD but they cross it on 522 which rejoins I-70 so they spend the least amount of time in Maryland as possible. That's after getting out in WVa, breaking the slide off, storing it and the ammo separately in different spots in the RV; then as soon as they enter PA they get out again and put it back in the driver's compartment.

They can drive the entire distance from the Mexican border all the way up to the MD state line with their TX CCW, but they don't trust Interstate protection even if they have everything broken down and separated, so they cross over quickly.

At least it's far far away from where the antis live.

I was just going to post about the new Garmins coming out. I'll be getting the 20, to replace the piece of crap that I have now. Finally, a known maker. I think we'll see more of this in the near future. I hear the new Vette will have a dash cam as an option..., mostly for track use, but there it is.
