Vote for me for PA-HofR district 76
#1
Rep Mike Hanna of Lock Haven, PA is running AGAIN unopposed in our voting district this election. This is absolutely disgusting that a conservative candidate cannot come out to represent us and that is why I am voting for myself as a write in and running as a Libertarian and I encourage everyone in this area to vote for me too. Another thing that this makes absolutely clear is WE NEEDS TERM LIMITS!!!

The whole thing that sparked this outrage for me was after reading today's paper and it had Mike Hanna's mug on the front page and he was interviewed for the ad in the paper about the current preemption law going through the process right now. I only skimmed the article so I am paraphrasing a little but it went something like this.

He talked about how guns were a hot subject right now with the shooting involving the two state workers and he said that guns only belong in the woods to shoot at living things other than humans. Basically he's an uninformed liberal gun grabbing Fudd who thinks only hunters should have guns while ignoring the fact that our state constitution clearly says SHALL NOT BE QUESTIONED!!!!!

One thing is for sure, he will win in November and he will win again in two more years unless something changes and this guy WILL be another vote in the house to further take your rights away. Mike Hanna does not represent me and that is why I will be voting for myself this November.

*sort of venting/sort of serious

Sorry, I only write in candidates that talk about themselves in the third person. Smile

J/K, if I lived up there, I'd write ya in.

I think I saw the thread you made a while ago. GO FOR IT! Maybe we'll work together someday.

Mr_Gixxer wishes you lived closer so you could vote for him too.

Seriously though, I may just register in 2016 for this spot. I'll even do it pro bono. These positions should all be volunteer anyway. Average salary for the position Hanna is taking without a fight is almost 80k a year. That's a lot of money for around here.

$80K... but let's not forget the per diem for when the legislature is in session. And you don't have to provide receipts... plus the money from PAC's, the free healthcare and benefits. And after 10 years in the legislature you are guaranteed healthcare for life as well as a pension....

Little ridiculous, huh?

I'm with you Gixxer... term limits are much needed in the state. Other states have them and they work fine. Just means more people in a district have to step up and be a part of governing their community.
