Well the crazies got to me. Just ordered first AR

I have been researching a few ARs for a while now in the $1000-1500 range. Figured I would wait until my birthday in Jan.

After looking all week at online retailers supply dwindling, hearing that all LGS are almost bare & the political threats against us I decided I better not wait.

So I was sitting in a parking lot 2 hrs ago waiting for my wife to get out of physical therapy. Had our 3 year old son and our pooch with us. So I'm looking at some stuff for my new FV-SR when I decide to check out grabagun.com again.

Last I looked(yesterday) they had a fair amount of 556/223 ARs in stock.
To my surprise. All that was in stock was a Remington for $1050 and a Sportical for $580. Not having the cash yet for what I wanted in January and seeing the "1 left in stock" for the DPMS I panicked. lol

Should ship by the end of the week. I am excited though. Like getting a post in before the lock
Tongue

I know its not a Colt or similar but from what I heard from actual owners they are tanks. I am not an "operator" and will not be taking it to war. It should fulfill my needs. I figure I will be able to customize it however I desire(I hope) and save some cash for the vaporware ammo and mags for it.

I guess right now a low end AR is better than no AR.
I have always had good luck with low end stuff though. Both Taurus I've owned(traded 709 for 738 which I still have) and my H&R Protector have been 100%. So is my used S&W 22A which I shoot every week in a local league.

Only my 3 CZs have been higher priced(for me). Of course they are flawless. As is my 10-6.

So any one have a DPMS Sportical in 5.56?

Great, and don't get down about a "low end" AR.

My good friend and I both have ARs. His has all the gear, spikes lower, BCM upper.

Mine was a bushy upper, with a new quadrail, and a red dot.

The both shoot the same, but I have a few hundred less into mine than he does into his.

Don't worry about the panic buying. I went out and got another 1k rounds today. It is better safe, than sorry. And even if things don't go poorly, with the demand right now. You will be lucky to find anything else for a while.

Take it apart, put it back together. Take it apart, clean it. Put what you want on it, and shoot the shit out of it. Smile

Yup. I gotta hand it to grabagun though. No price gouging. Fast shipping with 5.99 flat rate. I love them for online.

Also no sales halts, knee jerk apologies. Just business as usual.

Just put an order in for 2 complete DTI lowers at $210 a piece.

Remember...........in the event ''of a ban'' it might be wise to invest a couple bucks in the lowers because the uppers are parts.
"The colors, the colors. Has anybody seen my good friend John?" Then he lit up a banana and he hung up.

Wow. I never heard of them - they do seem to have decent pricing on things. Pretty much in line with/lower than on items I've recently researched at other retailers.

All that said -

I have my eyeballs set on a heavy FNAR now after playing with a friend's FNAR this past weekend at the range.

I'm going to resort to ordering it and hope I can get it.

Hmm... the cheaper pump-action shotguns also seem to be out of stock on grabagun.

Plenty of semi-auto shutguns tho... although I dunno why anyone would want a SASG and pay double for it when most of them only do 5 shells plus are a royal bitch when they jam.

Try shooting trap doubles or skeet with a pump, you'll know why a semi-auto is better, although the preferred gun is a O/U for those sports.

I have an old Browning A5 Humpback semi-auto, made in 1954, never jammed once on me, I shoot trap all the time with it.
