What Grip Panels for a Nickel Plated 1911?
#1
So, I have this Nickel Plated Colt Delta Elite but I think it needs new grip panels. What do you guys think would look better than the current Pachmyer American Legends? I'm thinking bone white or mother of pearl myself but I'd like to hear some other ideas and see some pics of other nickel plated 1911's!

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Really good stag or perhaps Ironwood. Something that will really stand out. White, while nice on a black gun, would just fade out on that nickel.

I don't know why but I keep being drawn to fancy, gawdy grips like engraved pewter, carved naked ladies or real bone with colt emblem inlays.

I like the gaudy gold...you'll have a 'silver and gold' thing going on, and every time you pull it from the safe you'll sing to yourself "silver and gold, silver and gold how do you measure it's worth? Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth" in your best Burl Ives udolph the red nosed reindeer voice.

If you do replace them, how much will you sell the old grips for?

I like the look of burl wood. it's a nice contrast to all the shiny.

Haha! It's cool to have one gaudy BBQ gun!

I'll probably put the ALS's back on my other black 1911.

These are fucking awesome...but not $250 awesome!! LOL

I still wanna replace my grips.

Maybe we both get something different and see which one looks better? Wink

I'm drawn to something in "blue" to go with the polished finish.
I started looking, but got side tracked and forgot all about it.
