What optic do you have on you AR?
#1
Title is the question. I would like to put something on one of my AR's but I dont know where to start. I dont know if I want a scope or Red Dot. What magnification for the scope. They are just for shooting at the range and God forbid any type of uncivil uprising. I was thinking a Redfield Revolution. But I dont know. All advice and opinions are welcome.

I like my Leupold VX-R scope, nice scope for the money. I have the circle firedot, another option is they make this in a patrol model now which has exposed turrets.

I don't own one, but I have tried it out on a guy's rifle at the range. I really like the Aimpoint Pro Patrol Rifle Optic. I plan on buying one whenever I "renovate" my current AR.

I have a 1-4x with an illumintated reticle. I can't look it up here at work, but it's a cheap one. It has its down sides but I really like the principle. The red ring on 1x works a lot like a red dot, on 4x it gives me enough magnification to shoot out to where 556 is effective.

I think they've started coming out with 1 or 1.5-6x now. I feel like that would be perfect.

There are lots optics snobbery sites around. Once you pick your flavor read up on brands and specs. When I was buying I found lots of threads with everything from reticle pictures to torture tests.

I ended up needing to opt for a cheaper option, but it always pays to be informed.

I put a aimpoint pro on mine. I actually bit the big one. I'm very happy I did. Just pay attention to the moa of the dot. that seems to be a major factor.

I never shot a red dot optic, For not being magnified it sure does make a world of difference. for being 1/3 of the cost of my rifle it didn't let me down
With the Second Amendment saying what it says, Why isn't the Federal Government Suing NY
