What to do with old jeans?
#1
I've been doing some cleaning and I discovered that I have about 8 pairs of jeans with holes in them. I was gonna throw them out, but then thought maybe they could be useful for something? My first thought was fire starters. I googled it, and apparently you can just cut them into strips and dip them in wax.

Anyone have any other ideas? I'm sure there are a ton of things I haven't thought of. I searched google but most of the results were arts and crafts type projects. I'm looking for something more utilitarian.

Cut them up and use them as rags in the garage or part of the cleaning process for your guns.
Everytime we look the other way when someone else loses rights we disagree with, we make it easier to lose the rights we support.

Sew up the leg cuffs and cut both legs off just above the bottom of the hip pockets. You're left with with two gun socks (carbine or rifle depending on your inseam) and a spiffy pair of Daisy Dukes.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Just because I doubt any of the yougin's here have ever heard this song.

We use them as rags, but if there's any lengths that are still good, they could be used to make pouches to protect things, like guns.

Cut them into 5"x5" squares.
Toughest toilet paper you'll ever find.

AVOID any portion of the jeans with rivets!

Well, you can dye them, then layer them in different color patterns, add epoxy, and make your own custom micarta grips for knives or 1911s. Or anything else you want.

Or, depending on the location of the holes you could sell them to a vintage shop for a couple of bucks.

I like Ten*K's idea. I used some denim to make a strop for my knives: I cut a leg off, rubbed in a polishing compound (the green stuff), wrapped around a small section of 2x4 tightly, then stapled it to it.
