Bolt carrier groups were already hard to find by the fall of 2012. A friend of mine needed one back in the November. So stupid me takes the Rainer Arms Thundbolt BCG from the middy AR and sells to him for the $135 that I bought it for. Was about to place an order then with Core 15 but they suddenly were out of stock. Put in two subsequent orders for other bolt carrier groups and waited until those companies cancelled out the orders. By that time, the horror had taken place at Sandy Hook and the AR buying panic hysteria was underway.

Ended up buying a phosphate coated Core 15 bolt carrier group a couple of weeks ago for $225. The prices as of this time are still too high. In my humble opinion, I think that this insane market for all parts except maybe lower receivers and 30 round mags will collapse by spring.

Bolt carrier groups, like most AR parts, come from a handful of manufacturers. The company name on them isn't generally who made it. It's just built to their specs. BCG started getting hard to find almost a year ago. My last job sold M4 parts kits and we were constantly trying to find BCGs to put in parts kits. Hell the one in my AR is a surplus Colt M16A1 BCG.

I'm already beginning to suspect this...at some point the demand will be met with a combo of so of the demand going away. Our fight w/ the grabbers isn't over, but some of the histeria will begin to subside.
