While everyone has been distracted CISPA just passed the house.

Seems rather convenient to me. Gun control, ricin, bomb. Divert all attention away from everything else, like CISPA.

You know what CISPA stands for?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyber_Intel...ection_Act

It stands for we're fucked.

Just to illustrate how truly fucked we are.. even FACEBOOK is against this thing.

Edit: It didn't pass, yet.

Topsy may be stuck in a time warp, according to his Wiki link it passed the House last year and died in the Senate.

Quote:The legislation was introduced on November 30, 2011 by U.S. Representative Michael Rogers (R-MI) and 111 co-sponsors. It was passed in the House of Representatives on April 26, 2012, but was not passed by the U.S. Senate. President Obama's advisers have argued that the bill lacks confidentiality and civil liberties safeguards and they advised him to veto it. In February 2013 the bill was reintroduced in the House.

No, I just got some apparently wrong information that the bill itself passed. Apparently some sort of pre-bill-bill passed to have debate on it or some shit.

Bump, only to correct my previous posting here. According to the LOC website I linked before, this bill seems to have indeed passed the house a day later on the 18th.

This bill is probably the greatest threat to privacy ever put together. I had heard something that Obama was going to veto it if it passed but I'm not sure that's the case any more.

I also heard that the bit on piracy was removed too. I cannot confirm because I haven't read it yet. Not to say it can't get tacked on in the senate though.
