Who has level 3 holsters?
#1
So I am curious does anyone here that open carries, carry in a full level 3 retention holster?

I have a Safariland 6378, but am deeply considering getting a nice safariland level 3 or true level 2, with hood included to open carry. Granted it's bulky, and people will take notice but still.

Only issue, most duty safarilands that I found fit only a 2 inch belt and a 1 inch drop my belt is 1.5. and I don't want a drop, only mid ride.

What do you plan on carrying in the holster?

Either way, problem solved.

Full size M&P, with or without TRL1, if I ever buy a light.

Which that 6367 isn't made for (according to safarilands site)

EDIT:

Odd at http://www.safariland.com/DutyGear/produ...x?pid=6367 They do not list the Smith and Wesson M&P as a fitting. However http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum6254.php has it, and with options for lights.

I don't like the strap that goes over the backstrap of the pistol. I don't care for the hood.

I like the 070 triple retention holsters for level III protection. I'm a huge fan of the ALS as I have two, one for a 1911 in .45 and one for my glock 22/23. Not a fan of the gadgets that can be added to the ALS. I've never messed with them or worn them just don't like the look.

Do those fit a 1.5 inch belt?

I really doubt it. It is truly, a duty holster.

Ahh ok. Maybe I'll just try the 6367. Thanks!

If you do get the 6367, then let me know what you think about it. I am considering picking one up for OC and range use.

At work I have a level 3.

If I OC, it is normally a level 2. If I OCed more frequently and didn't use my personal holster at work, I would OC with my level 3.

I used to use the 070 at work. It wasn't horrible, but I always had trouble with one of the snaps. Just a chevy or ford thing.

The 0701 looks like it has potential, though. How difficult is is for the wearer to disengage the snap?
