Why Can’t Liberals Just Accept these Facts about Assault Rifles?

AR-15 rifle

One thing is certain: politicians, particularly liberal democrats, are trying to curtail your ability to own an “assault rifle.”

They’d love for you not to have any guns, but right now the favorite gun to harp on is any long arm that has a removable magazine and an imposing “military style grip.”

Now as any responsible gun owner knows, an “assault rifle” is a completely made-up term meant to drum up fears in the hearts of moms across the nation. Nothing seems more evil than a weapon whose entire purpose was designed around “assault” as opposed to protection.

The truth is an assault rifle is nothing more than a rifle, and rifles have been a mainstay for millions of Americans who take self defense into their own hands.

Part of the problem with assault rifles is they’re east to pick on because they’re commonly used in one type of shooting and one type of shooting only.

Mass shootings.

And that’s what Democrats want the American public to think about… to obsess over… to become upset about.

Mass shootings.

But for all of the hullabaloo, liberal Democrats seem to have overlooked one key piece of data that renders their “assault rifles are evil” argument completely impotent. http://therighttobear.com/why-cant-liber...lt-rifles/

Since when does logic apply to any liberal cause?

Justin

PS I'm talking about the extreme lefties. I recognize that there are moderates on both sides of any given issue, but it is the extremes that get the attention.

1) Proofread before publishing.

2) That first quoted sentence probably does not represent what the author was really trying to say - or at least [should] be trying to say ...

Mass violence will find a way to out. Not that I in any way wish these events to occur, but why can't the perps use something else for a change. I am waiting for the rash of heavy projectile event to occur - I guess it takes a little more imagination to figure out the effect of the kinetic energy of an at least 3000lb object moving at 80mph or so. There is registration, but no background checks for sales and around 250 million in current circulation.

The problem is that too many vocal, politically-belligerent people (at both ends of the spectrum) want their opinions/beliefs/morality/lifestyle/prejudices/gut-feelings/grandiose-ideals/etc. enforced on others under threat of law/violence. Feel free to bitch to your family/friends/pets/whatever, be leave "me" the hell alone.

I understand that and didn't mean to imply that it was you, although, sorry, I didn't specifically exclude you either. Maybe in the future you could use the QUOTE function (select the quoted material and then click on the text-bubble icon, second line, 4th from the right, at the top) to specifically indicate that you are quoting an author's/site's content.

Quote:i.ie This is a quote.

That should help make things clearer for everybody. If you had then it would look more like this ...

Because agenda drives their reasoning. You can't rationalize with someone who will deliberately ignore your side of the argument because doing so would require that they re-examine their position, and that might render their agenda moot.

For liberals, it's entirely about their agenda.

Keep in mind that the end game is a complete gun ban like Great Britain and Australia. They pick on modern firearms like the AR15 because they are the most intimidating looking. If and when they got their way with them, they would move on to the next item, say any rifle or pistol with a removable magazine or magazine capacity limits. One step at a time until the next thing you know, a break open rifle or shotgun is illegal. Hell, Great Britain as gone so far as to make it illegal for someone under a certain age from buying a butter knife or a pizza cutter. No, I'm not joking. Once they got guns banned, they started on knives.

Das, please try the above when posting your articles from elsewhere, myself and curmudgeon have occasionally cleaned up your posts, but it be best if you did it yourself to differentiate between your comments and the article you are quoting.
