Why do we let them do this to us in PA?
#1
I was reading today where PA by far has the most NRA members. I don't remember the exact figure, but I was rather astounded. It stands to reason with with such a large community of members we should be more of a force to be reckoned with in PA than we are. Hardly anyone even has a clue open carry is legal here. What amazes me is that while we are a stronghold of gun rights in the Northeast, your 2nd amendment freedom doesn't hold a candle to what the laws are in AZ and the other desert states excluding CA. Why don't we have constitutional carry in PA yet like they do? I think the reason is Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Can we please get together and just deed Philadelphia to New Jersey already and be done with it lol? They would fit in with Jerseyites so much better than Pennsylvanians. I don't see anything Philadelphia has to offer us at all lol. Philadelphia in my mind could just ass soon become New Camden and nobody would know the difference. Hell if I were governor I'd even throw Chester in to sweeten the deal!

I would literally go to war with anyone that tried to force my Philly property to become part of NJ.

NRA hunters, that's why.

If you want to join a gun club in PA, they require an NRA membership, and if hunters want to sight their rifles there....even if they think you don't need anything other than one good HUNTING rifle...then they have to join the NRA.

I had a job where I was required to be a union member, but I never paid the dues....so I was a member because I had to be, but I was not one in good standing and would get no help from the union if I needed it...but I didn't care, I was checking a box.

You're under the mistaken assumption that the NRA actually cares about the 2A.

If every gun owner in PA made a consorted effort to pass pro-gun legislation, it might get passed... if the DA won't find a way to not follow it. Rolleyes

Uh, no.

Any of the ones I've ever looked into have. Maybe it's an area based thing?

Here in nearby York County the 2 I have joined have urged all members to join, and also offered reduced NRA dues. But it was never a requirement.

Of course, that's only 2 of them.
