Why is nobody talking about the Connecticut registration?
#1
I looked for another thread on this, but I haven't seen one is it just me are we not talking about this? If not why not? This is only a few more mass shootings away from worming it's way into PA. We already beat a similar law in Wilmington by a hair. A law that was proposed in direct violation of DE preemption that nobody seemed to care about. I doubt we will be so lucky next time.

For all the talk of people saying the government can take their guns from their cold dead hands, here they are lining up just like they did in Australia and the UK to register them for the coming confiscation. It just reinforces my belief that legal gun ownership in this country will more than likely die out with a whimper rather than a bang like people seem to believe after the years of school indoctrination and legislative encroachment have taken their toll... That is unless people's lives are effected enough by the current regime to incite a nation-wide revolt first, which seems to be getting more and more unlikely.

I hope that there were at least some people in that line smart enough that bought some trash guns and registered them to divert attention from themselves.

I also wonder how long it will be before the first 80 year old grandmother defends herself from a burglar with her late husband's military service Remington Rand and get's arrested and/or thrown in prison for her troubles of not knowing the law changed out from under her?

Pretty interesting quotes from the people in line:

Quote:Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said “if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me.

Quote:“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

I think I would just as soon send them out of state for a while until this issue got it's inevitable day in court than register them if for some reason I felt compelled enough to consider standing in that line and wanted to remain legal.

I, for one, refuse to comply with any new gun restrictions in my lifetime. I will just move to another State. When I run out of States, then I guess I will just be another gun toting criminal.

This surprises me also. NY is now confiscating after registration. Seems like the sheep are being herded into the box car eeerrrrr. coral that is. I dont think I would comply with this unconstitutional law. I would rather be a criminal that can defend my family than a law abiding victim. Thats just how I feel. Disarming good people so only criminals have firearms makes no sense.

Very active on another board:

As am I. It's easy to sit in your state and tell someone else to "just move". It's not so simple.

I take exception to the second statement, though. We gun owners did not make this life - the liberal assholes that have overrun this once great state have made this life. I have been and am continuing to fight, but it's hard when you're outnumbered about 100 to 1.

Sorry - I meant it as made your livlihood - made your home, family, friends and career. You have made this place YOUR life!. I don't follow the "you voted for them - deal with them" mindest. I didnt vote for them and will do what I need to when the time comes."

The same applies here...................any politician that attempts this action needs to be taken out - by recall if possible - or by any other means available

See how well that stand and fight attitude is working in NJ, NY and the rest of the swamped progressive states. 100:1 ratio doesn't win in the voting booth.

Running away may work for a while, but cancer spreads. We've already witnessed this in Colorado; and Virginia is slowly being poisoned by the trash coming from the DC area. Hell, sad as it is to say, I half expect to see states like Texas fall in within the next decade or so.

Somebody has to bring cases to courts to get them under scrutiny.

The "10-but-7" thing, even within the home, is about as stupid as it gets.

At least the opposition in upstate New York is very very strong, and there's at least 5 concurrent lawsuits against Cuomo's law. Hopefully it won't survive.

Baaaaaaaahhhh! Baaaaahhh! Baaaaaaa! Lot's of sheep, not a sheepdog in the bunch. Where are all thug rapper wannabe the inner city drug dealing wolves? Aren't they supposed to line up to register their guns too?! Just lots and lots of sheep. The state ought to at least be paying for these people's time that they're wasting with their dog and pony show.
