that said, slavery hasn't been abolished in America yet until they abolish the mandatory requirement for men to register for the selective service when they turn 18.

draft = slavery...plain and simple.

Bitch when there is a live draft. Until there is there is no "slavery."

does the state require mandatory selective service registration for men when they turn 18? yes and if you don't register, you'll face either a fine and/or prosecution.

can the state use the registrants from the selective service to draft people into war? yes

the state doesn't own me....

you?

Did you register when you turned 18? If not, were you prosecuted?

They owned me from 1976 - 1986. You are free, of course, to move to a different country if you don't like the system. Most European countries require you to server a minimum of 2 years service after you turn 18. This country requires that you sign up in case of emergency. We've been on a war footing for 13 years now, have you been called up? Has the emergency been declared? No! Now go sell it somewhere else!

yep! I was a democrat when I was 18.

So it would seem that your owned if you registered. At least until you're a bit older. You can always file for a conscientious objector status though.

good point, I didn't even think of that!

now that's just downright sad that the government can own someone yet slavery is supposedly 'abolished'. why can the government own people but private individuals can't?

both should be abolished, period.

I'm less concerned about selective service than I am about the ultimate in government slavery, which is taxes.

I'm too old to care any more, but honestly, i find it laughable.

It will seal Obama's legacy as perhaps the single most influential president when it comes to changing US society, literally, in history.

Change....he brought it. In spades.

Add expansion of the money supply and inflation.
