It appears that you cannot own or sell pellet/BB guns in Scranton.

Seriously, the 18810/18840 zip code is out in the sticks. However, I think a lot of these little burgs have ordinances against discharging air rifles in the town borders. (Don't ask me how I know this) Blush

That might have something to do with it. Shrug

Kinda strange, though since I can buy one at Wally World or KMart here.

I think there's a typo in there. I tried to order one and it let me go all the way to the "Place Your Order" button with no issues. Also, I've purchased an air rifle through Amazon recently and Woot! is owned by Amazon.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Anyone have experience with these? I may have to just pick one up for the hell of it. Might be a good way to get some target practice in considering .22 is all but non existent.

I kind of like the mk177

I was looking at that one, too. I have an old Crosman 760 and it's been pretty useful.

The only thing I don't think I will like is pumping the damn thing 10 times each shot. CO2 would be cool but then you'd have to make sure you have a supply of canisters. I wish I could have the option of either or in the same rifle.

Yeah, the multiple pump thing gets tiresome. There are some good break-barrel air rifles out there for under 100 bucks that will give a claimed 1000+ fps, but they're pellet only (no BBs).

I've had, (still have) a few of the Crosman 760 Powermaster and Pumpmaster air rifles. They are pretty accurate and well built. The oldest one is about 40 years old now and it's still perfectly functional. You don't have to pump them ten times to shoot them, you can pump as few as two and it shoots about like a Daisy lever action BB gun, ten is the maximum recommended power.
The seals will last a lot longer if you don't shoot full power all the time. Pumping more than 10 times does not produce noticeably more power and puts excess pressure on the seals, resist the temptation, it isn't worth it.

Those who watch things happen,
And those who wonder what happened.
