"Working" Smart Gun Technology
#1
Get ready for a new wave of legislation mandating smart guns:

http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/29/technolo...smart-gun/

Quote:According to the Armatix Web site, as soon as the gun loses radio contact with the watch – e.g. if it is knocked out of the shooter’s hand or in case of loss, theft, etc. – it automatically deactivates itself, so the gun would be useless to a would-be attacker. Armatix has created it’s own weapon, and has plans to develop the technology for new weapons with other manufacturers and offer it to gun owners with existing weapons:

Wasn't it NJ that already has a law on the books that once the technology is viable only smart guns will be allowed for the subjects that reside there?

Because that could never be defeated by tinkering with the internals.

Wonder what the rf range is. Could it be fired weak handed? Doubtful from the description.
The law? The law is a human institution...

I'm sure there is no back-door way for the government enforcers to disable these wonderful pieces of technology.

That is one ugly-ass watch too.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Hey, it's a gun thread. You'll find any reason to complain.

The really cool part about it is that if for some reason you're disabled none of your family or friends can pick the weapon up and defend you while you're down. [/sarcasm]Dodgy
